You get a D- in math. Why? Because you bias the outcome. See, what we are all upset about is murder. It doesn’t matter what the weapon used was. The biggest mass killings, the WTC on 9/11/01 and the Murrah Federal Building in OKC all involved NO GUNS. There was still massive death. Japan almost completely outlaws guns, yet they have a much higher suicide rate than we in the U.S. do. Of 192 countries surveyed by the UNODC, 101 of them have a higher homicide rate than we do, despite the U.S. having the most guns per capita. We’re not even #1 in “gun murders.” (Last time I checked, we clocked-in at #6.)

All of this is aside from the fact that somewhere between 700,000 and 2.5 million incidents of legal self-defense happen each year, vastly outpacing crime, accidents and terror attacks.
